It’s very common for companies to send a background to all team members to use for video calls. They may even offer a selection. It doesn’t remove the problem of bubble heads, disappearing hands, earrings, and ears with virtual backgrounds and greenscreens. I’m way too animated for those to work. I’d need to put on a cap, and sit on my hands.
Here are some alternatives are not very expensive and very effective.
- Create a rigid sign from SignPros, VistaPrint, FedEx, or the like to put behind you to ensure your branding always shows on the screen. Mine fits dead center in my window, so my head mostly covers it. I could set one off to the side or easily suspend it from the ceiling with monofilament thread.
- A printed curtain you can slide out of the way. Sereneview – they will create a custom-printed piece of fabric with your design in any size. The fabric is easy to wipe down or wash, the inks won’t fade in wash or sun, and it’s affordable. We have two backgrounds that I can easily change using a spring rod curtain.
- Another option is having a company like Displaystar.com create a tube display for you. 8′ is usually wide enough for a video background at your desk. It can also be branded, lit, and washed. It costs more because it comes with a frame that can store in a case. A bonus is having the frame and cover to take to events. I use this for my non-profit for photo ops. That’s what most of my clients do that have these screens.
